San Diego, California could very easily turn out to be the epi-center of a major national disaster that will sweep across this country. By disaster, I don’t mean a natural disaster like an earthquake, a hurricane, or another wildfire – but a disaster in terms of political matters. It could be that this year, 2012, will be remembered as the year this country (USA) either woke up or drove off the cliff. Of course, I know about that prediction of 2012 being the year the earth ends – which I totally do not believe. (God never lies – and for those that don’t believe in God, you can stop reading this because, you have other problems and I can’t help you.) Besides, if it does end this all will not matter anyway.

We have now, THE worst president I have ever seen in office and it just so happens he is a Democrat. Now, at this same time we have running for the office of mayor of San Diego - THE worst candidate running for that office by the name of Carl DeMaio, and it just so happens he is a Republican. I make both those statements with complete confidence that they are without a doubt in my mind truthful and honest. I also want say that this has absolutely nothing to do personally with either of these individuals, because I have never met personally with either of these men. Now, with that said, I do know them as public figures, which by that fact, is the way they can become known to the general public by way of their speeches, public actions and the media coverage - this creates their public image for the many that do not have the ability or opportunity to know them personally. So, they ARE responsible for their public image – their public images are what I have based the forementioned statements.

Now, with that said, the public image that both these individuals have created is one of lies, falsehoods, deceit and arrogance. The proof is all around you – open your eyes. I have already stated in my previous writings some of the problems that are going on in this country and in the city of San Diego, so I’m not going to rehash old information. This is about how the two parties – Democrats and Republicans – have seem to have forgotten how to represent ALL the people in this country.

How does this country expect to continue to be the greatest country in the history of the world when the two primary parties that are suppose to represent the people have lost all moral focus. Has everyone simply gone blind and therefore allowed themselves to be guided by their political affiliation rather than trying to use some intelligence? Abraham Lincoln once said, “I am a firm believe in the people. if given the truth they can be depended upon to meet any national crisis. The great point is to bring them the real facts.” These two men have distorted facts simply to appeal to the voters – this is wrong.

Now I say this with complete confidence - I applaud, admire and honor the recent decision of mayoral candidate Nathan Fletcher where he has chosen to be an Independent. He seems to be one of a very few that have come to realize that a good leader of a city, or for that fact, this country cannot represent the people and be one-sided – because as leader he has to be a leader of both because the parties are already suppose to represent the people.

A country or nation divided will soon fall. It will fall from fighting from within. A good leader is suppose to stop the fighting and find solutions that work for both parties and that results in helping all the people. Compromise in anything – is a win-win for the parties involved. Our current president and this so-called candidate for mayor of San Diego are not good leaders nor are they truthful and honest. Both distort information so to manipulate people into voting for them. This cannot continue, because if it does we will not be blessed with neither a city or country that our forefathers fought hard to create and leave for their heirs. We are suppose to make things better for our children - it has come the time to stop blaming and start thinking and doing.

This is a crucial time for both the citizens of San Diego in the upcoming mayor’s race and the whole country in the upcoming presidential election. In my honest opinion, neither of these men deserve your vote or to represent you in any office. One is already in office and has done an awful job – another is running for office and will destroy this city — there is not one single worker in the city of San Diego that will vote for Mr. DeMaio, and that should tell voters something (remember, if you’re not extremely wealthy, you are of the working class.)

When it comes to electing a leader of a city, state or this country, it is not a matter of which party – Democrat or Republican – will win the election, it’s a matter of who will represent the people and do right for all the people.

Party representation is suppose to stop with the representatives we send to the councils, assembly, and congress - a good leader (Mayor, Governor, President) should know how to represent and work with all parties.

Effective leadership is not about making speeches and being liked; leadership is defined by results not attributes. P. Drucker

That’s as simple as it gets — when you’re unemployed you don’t have a job. Now is it a fact you can’t find a job or you don’t want a job? Either way, you don’t have a job. Now that’s not to say you’re not working – because there are lots of people that find work that they get paid for doing something that they don’t report as a job - it’s just work – work that doesn’t involve paying taxes or receiving anyother benefits other than money. What I’m talking about here is unemployment and how the numbers are just being twisted, turned, and flipped inside out and using “smoke and mirrors” to fake out the public- just to make it sound better than it is.

This to me seems to be by far the worst president and administration that I can say I have seen in my lifetime. (And I have lived long enough to live thru a few.) Many have said he’s worst than Carter, and I must agree only because this administration has been so up-in-your-face with lying and treating the public like they’re just stupid. When someone lies to you – they should have the decency to at least try not to make it so blatant / completely obvious. That should make anyone upset and feel offended.

Now for those of you that are going through an episode of unemployment - and I do call it an episode - because if you can’t find a job after a few months or perhaps a year – that is just an episode in your life, but if you have been going for years being unemployed and can’t find a job that is a way of life for you and you really don’t want to work – just being honest. But really, this is for everyone no matter if you have a job and have never been on unemployment or if you are currently unemployed – this is all just to make things clear about what’s happening with the numbers and this so-called economic turn-around.

Unemployment is basically insurance — you lose your job that is not due to any fault of your own and you have worked and had taxes withheld for at least a year — you will receive unemployment benefits. It’s that simple. Now just to make it clear – if you lost your job because of something you did and the company can prove it – forget unemployment, you’re on your own (not to say somebody might find a way to beat the system and get a few bucks -hey it does happen). Ok, unemployment generally pays from the minimum of $40 per week up to a max. of $450 per week – depending on what you were earning and how long you worked. Now while they are paying you, you must in the meantime be looking for a job - and they ask you to fill out a form every couple weeks asking you where you looked for work. If you can’t find any work – no one will hire you or no one is hiring – you will receive unemployment for months and months and up to a year or two in some cases.

Now here’s the deal with the numbers — unemployment pays a person for a specific period of time – they don’t just keep paying you and paying you indefinitely – they expect you to find some type of work in 16, 18, 24 weeks or so. Now since this president took office in 2008 - Congress has had to extend unemployment benefits for the unemployed people 3 times - this is something Congress had and needed to do because they had so many people out of work and no one was hiring and to make it worst they had more people still losing their jobs. What does this mean in regards to the numbers reported to the public? It means as long as you are receiving unemployment benefits (money) the government uses those numbers to estimate how many people are unemployed. It also means that when they stop giving you unemployment benefits (money) they stop counting you as being unemployed. Do you see the problem here? If the government only approved giving you unemployment for 3 months or so and you didn’t find a job – too bad – you’re on your own, because those unemployment checks will stop coming. But it also means they stop counting you as being unemployed. So that means — unemployment went down! Duh? You’re still out of work! Now, why did they extend employment benefits those 3 times? – Oh that’s easy, because as House speaker Pelosi put it – “paying out unemployment benefits help the economy.” Can you really stimulate the economy when you are receiving $160/week which is $640/mo. (that’s average)and your bills are over $600 a month - that doesn’t leave much to “stimulate” the economy. Please! Is this administration that far out of touch? Truth is, they had to extend the benefits because they knew they put so many people out of work because of what they did and what they were not doing – they had to give the people something. Look, in 2nd quarter of 2008, AIG reported a lost of $5 billion and in the 3rd quarter they lost another $25 billion – but here’s the kicker – the government ”lent” them $150 billion to keep AIG from going bankrupt. Maybe I’m not good at math, but $5 billion + $25 billion = $30 billion – Why did they ”loan’ AIG $150 billion? That seems like $120 billion more than they needed – oh and that is money the U.S. taxpayer has to pay back. Hello!?

Ok back to unemployment – the people that are unemployed looking for jobs are not getting the kind of job that pays them what they were making before -so they are taking a pay cut. But now they will be paying more taxes but making less hourly – and that also includes NOT receiving any health or pension benefits. Does this sound good to anyone? If you find one person out there that agrees with this kind of system - they obviously know people in this administration and you need to make friends with them. What is going on now is not helping anyone except those that are in power & government.

So, here’s the deal, the unemployment numbers are just thrown out there like old dirty dishwater — they will put anything in it and then just throw it out to the people. The numbers or percentages are coming down slightly because of what I see as 3 reasons: (1) they have people that have simply ran out of their unemployment benefits so they don’t count them anymore. (2) Many people have become frustrated with looking for jobs when there are so few and the pay is so low, they have stopped accepting unemployment and started working and getting paid ”under-the-table,” (this way they can tell bill collectors they don’t have any income),and (3) There are those that had to take a job that pays just a little more than what unemployment paid them and that took them off unemployment (even though they are still under water on their bills and barely surviving.) So with just those 3 reason, which there maybe a few more, the government can announce that the unemployment numbers have dropped and therefore our economy is picking up.

GEEZ! That is so lame! Why bother telling us anything if they’re just going to lie about it.

Do people really understand what it means to have the right to vote? It seems that we have a lot of people saying they’re going to vote, but they don’t know who to vote for. I say, start with looking at how you’re doing right now, and if you’re better off than you were before, then you would want to keep things going in that same direction. But if you’re not better off and things are still bad and getting worse, then you should be considering a change.

The right to vote is and still should be an honor and a priviledge. There has been many that came before you and I that died to give us the right to vote. Now this can be applied to any country – not just to the United States, but everywhere. There have been wars, revolutions and marches that people gave their lives just to earn the right to vote. Why? Because they didn’t want someone else making all the decisions for them without the people having a say in the government. Do you want a government or a tyrant to make all the decisions for you? If you want freedom and liberty – you will not get either or keep either with big government controlling everything you do or want to do.

Now, here you are – the NEW VOTER. Being new might mean you’re a young person and you just came of age to vote or you just finally decided to vote because you want to exert your right to vote - or you’re an older person that has never voted before because of whatever excuse you made up and now you decided to vote – or you’re new to this country and now that you’ve became a citizen you can vote. Whatever the reason – it still doesn’t negate the fact that the RIGHT TO VOTE IS A HONOR AND A PRIVILEDGE THAT SHOULD NOT BE TAKEN LIGHTLY.

Lets begin with the upcoming presidential election. I have found that there are many people out there that simply say, “I’m voting for the current president” – and I follow with the question, Why? The two most common answers are, (1) creating jobs and (2) he seems to be doing ok. Now, before you accuse me of being some kind of “hater”, let’s just let facts and not emotions direct us in this discussion.

When I said that the right to vote is an honor and a priviledge, that means that you shouldn’t take voting lightly or vote recklessly with emotion. When a person votes they should use good sound judgement and gather all the information they can before casting their vote. Now that, I hope, should make sense to everyone. So with that said, don’t start with the childish attitude of saying ” you just don’t like the president”. I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again, I’ve never met the man, so I cannot dislike someone I’ve never met – but I can dislike what he’s doing. So, get comfortable and open your eyes and mind to what I’m about to say.

To begin with, what this country, the U.S., is going through economically and socially is by design. What’s happening isn’t because of some huge meteor that fell from the sky and started the collapse of the housing market or the price of gasoline to dramatically increase, or all the millions of people to start losing their jobs – this was something that people, meaning people that are in positions of power and control, did to this country and other countries. And why did they do it – very simple - for more money and more power – that is the only reasons they did it. If some of you don’t believe me, then like I said in the upper paragraph – open your eyes and mind and look around. What groups are getting wealthier and wealthier and who’s getting poorer and poorer? Are the wealthy, like Gates, Buffett, Ellison, Bloomberg, Soros, or Zuckerberg look like they’re losing money during these hard economic times? What about the corporations – Wal-Mart, Exxon-Mobil, Chevron, ConocoPhillips, Fannie Mae, GE, or GM – have you heard of them hurting for money? Let me answer that – NO. (Hey, if you don’t know alot of these names or companies, then that shows some ignorance on your part that shouldn’t be there if you plan to vote.) Now, have you been hearing about more and more small companies closing their doors, going out of business, filing bankruptcy? Let me answer that also, Yes – and that is something you can see everyday with your own two eyes. So, why? Oh, now before you start regurgitating what the media has been feeding you about how this president has been creating new jobs, let me explain.

First, there has been over 8 million jobs lost in the past 4 years. And with the president’s policies and stimulus money being put into play, there has been just a little more than 2 million new jobs created. Simple math shows that means there are 6 million people still out of work. If you think that’s no big deal and it takes time to create jobs, think again. There was suppose to be those ’shovel ready” jobs and more other types of jobs to come. Just think about that for a minute, it has already been said time and time again that there are many Americans that will not take those jobs working in the fields or those back-breaking low paying jobs – so what do you think might be “shovel ready’ jobs and who if not Americans are going to be taking those jobs? Not to mention, many of those that lost jobs were most likely white-collar workers, so they definitely are not the “shovel-ready” type of worker. It was also mentioned by some supporters of this president that once he was elected they wouldn’t have to worry about finding a job or putting gas in their car — now is it easier now to buy gas at $4 – $5 per gallon without a job than it was say when it was $2.50 per gallon and you had a job?

Let me explain something here that many of you apparently don’t understand or comprehend. Those 6 million unemployed will collect unemployment, those 6 million will need medical coverage, those 6 million are not helping the economy because they can’t afford much. Those 6 million become a burden to the government because they collect unemployment, they will need medical coverage, they will not be paying taxes! Now, the little more than 2 million that are working now under this president’s new policies are making a whole lot less than those that lost their jobs; they will be paying less taxes (that’s just for a little while – that is until the president’s other policies kick in and we all will be paying more taxes); they also will be receiving fewer if any health benefits or pensions, which also means they will have to find their own health coverage and retirement plans which will be more expensive. Oh, yeah they will have ObamaCare — (now really do you believe that?) with fewer people working and paying less taxes still leaves more people needing health care — can you explain how ObamaCare is going to fix that? Businesses have already indicated they can’t afford health care nor are many willing to provide it, so how do you expect the government to afford it when there is a growing number of people not working and thereby not paying any taxes? (refer to my previous blog on ObamaCare.) So, ok here’s the deal, we now have fewer jobs being created than were lost, we have people earning less and less but soon will be paying more in taxes. This all goes along with that new saying “you’re expected to do more and receive less.” Is this what you call doing a good job?

Ok, next and recently announced – we have a 70% increase in more people on welfare and on the food stamps since 2007. The number is around 45 million more people. That simply proves my point – either people are not working or are working jobs that don’t pay nearly enough for them to feed their family. You do realize that must be part of that 2 million more jobs that were created. Hey, this is not an indication of someone doing a good job.

Nearly every single policy or plan implemented by this current administration has been a complete failure or will cause further damage to our economy. Yet we have people that “think” this president is doing a good job! Are you really thinking, or just being plain stupid? There has been at present 3 clean energy companies that have received millions of dollars from this current administration that have filed bankruptcy. So that money is just gone. General Motors has stopped production of some of their so-called “energy efficient” cars because they are not selling – which means wasted money in production and workers being laid off.

Now if you know all this and still think that this president and his policies are going to fix this country and the economy – I have one thing to say to those of you that think that way – You are a very stupid person. (Def. : given to unintelligent decisions or acts; acting in an unintelligent or careless manner; lacking intelligence or reason.) Here’s the scary idea, if this president wins re-election, then that would lead other people (and most likely other countries) to believe that this country – the USA, is predominately filled with stupid people. I have news for many of you, the truth is this current administration already believes that they have enough people in this country that are just plain stupid and being that way they need someone (government, in this case) to tell them what to do and how to live.

This administration is trying to sell you on the idea that government is going to fix the current problems that they themselves created. Does a thief tell you how to protect your valuables when they’re trying to steal them? And if you think by giving this president another 4 years will fix the problems – I have news for you – in the second term there will be no accountability for him to worry about a re-election and therefore he will be able to do whatever he wishes without worry about what people think or how it will affect them - he will just take his money (our money) and run.

This all boils down to people not understanding that you don’t vote on emotions or just because you like how a person looks or speaks – you vote according to what you know to be right. The real truth is, there is nothing right about this current president and his administration that will help this country and the people that are still suffering. Of course they will give the customary token of a few dollars here and there to give the appearance that things are working, but the real truth cannot be hiddden – just open your eyes.

A government that is big enough to give you all you want is also big enough to take it all away. B. Goldwater.

I just recently heard people talking about this current administration is doing ok and that they could do better if it were not for the “Republicans.” PLEASE, USE YOUR BRAIN! It has nothing to do with the Republicans – it has to do with YOU! And the simple fact that there are those of you who don’t take the time to think about what’s really happening – they’re too easily distracted and can’t focus on the real important issues. You might compare it to a little kid playing with a toy and someone shows him another toy and they quickly forget about the toy they were playing with.

Maybe there are many of you out there (and I do mean “out there, way out there”) that need to go down to the nearest toy store or bookstore and get one of those connect-the-dots coloring books, because it looks like you really don’t see the big picture (so to speak, you don’t have a clue as to what’s going on.)

Dot one and two; Ok, now the president and his administration is pushing clean energy and promoting these hybrid cars. Dots three, four, and five; you go out and buy these overpriced and underpowered vehicles which causes slower traffic, traffic congestion, all this still uses more fuel and energy(gas & electric), not to mention takes more time. Dots six and seven; Next they GIVE millions to companies to create some form of clean energy and at last count 3 have declared bankruptcy(which allows the CEO’s to walk away with buckets of money), bail out auto makers such as GM with taxpayer money and direct them to build cars like the Chevy Volt which has stopped production due to lower sales. Dots eight and nine; next, since you’re buying these fuel efficient cars and using less fuel, they raised gas prices! Dot ten; the government orders a shut down of refineries just before the start of spring and thru summer, knowing people will use more fuel during holidays. There are more dots to connect, like people still losing their jobs and the only jobs they can get are lower paying jobs without any benefits, but I want to keep this short, so here’s the picture. The big picture is of a bandit pulling all the money out of another man’s pocket while he’s distracted watching something on TV. So, when’s the show is over and the man reaches in his pocket, his pockets are empty, he standing there wondering what happen to his money.

Ok, you buy a fuel efficient car – a hybrid – runs on gas and electricity, so you would expect to save money – right? Wrong! When you had your old car and filled it up at $2.95 per gallon with a 15 gallon tank you spent $44.25 to fill it up – but now with gas at $4.45 per gallon (on average, but most places it’s higher, but let’s just give them the benefit) and so now with your “more” fuel efficient hybrid with a 12 gallon tank you now spend $53.40 to fill it up. That’s a $9.15 increase on average. So explain to me how that is saving you money? You went out and spent more money for a new car, but now pay more for gas, but you’re suppose to be helping the environment and the economy. Since when is it a savings when you pay more for something and get less of it?Please, tell me what I’m missing here?!

The next thing our president tells us is that he can’t do a thing about the gas prices. (If you believe that – never get angry or ask why we have an electoral college – you are the reason.) Of course he can! There are two quick and easy things that he can do as president – (1) temporarily lower the federal taxes on gasoline and ask the states to do the same (Calif. alone gets at least .67 cents on every gallon of gas that goes to taxes) (2) use the Strategic Oil reserves – which is just sitting there in case we run out of oil -which we’re not about to.) Those two acts would immediately drop gas prices – but he says can’t do anything. (Just to make the point, not to endorse anyone, but Reagan did it during his presidency and gas prices fell like a rock.)

Hey, if you’re reading this and don’t believe me or know something that contradicts what I’ve said — I want to hear it. City’s have done this with water rates — city officials ask people to use less water during periods of droughts and ask them to go out and buy new water saving devices and appliances, but then raise the water rates because people are using less water but at the same time keep building new homes and expanding communities while they are saying there is a water shortage. The best part is when the drought is over, they keep higher water rates in place and then announce that they need to raise them again because of the increased water demands.

You know why they can do this? Because there are large numbers of people out there that do not know how to connect the dots! I personally don’t like the picture I’m seeing and I think a lot more people need to see the big picture.

Re-Distribution of Wealth and Obamacare are two very good examples of how our society (and perhaps this country) is slowly becoming “Lemming-like.” (Def. “Lemmings: small short-tailed furry-footed rodents noted for their mass migrations into the sea where vast numbers are drowned – or walking off a cliff.) There seems to be a total lack of thinking by the people in our society, and the current administration is trying to take full advantage of that lack of thinking. Like I’ve said before, - this current administration seems to consider the public to be as gullible and dumb as Homer Simpson and being that way they(public) will believe just about anything this administration puts out. I truly hope this is not true.

Now, before you disagree with my previous statement. Lets take a minute and analyze these two society-changing ideas - that are apparently the brain-childs of our current administration and the holy grail to many that believe in them. Just for the record, I’m just giving an opinion here and few points to consider.

First wealthy people are not from another planet neither are they of a different human species. They have some of the same characteristics and traits we all have and with the exception of some good luck, strong internal drive and discipline, they are the same as everyone of us. This means their attitudes are quite similar to mine and yours or to someone you know. It just so happens that because of their wealth they have a great deal of power and influence over the masses – something that those without alot of money don’t have.

How many people know that one of the main reasons cited for rising income and wealth inequality in the United States is globalization? This basically translates to trading of goods across national and international boundaries and includes the mobility of businesses to use labor and immigration to its’ financial benefit. Maybe you have heard of NAFTA (North American Free Trade Agreement) – this has opened the door wider to world trade. Why do you pay big bucks for something made overseas in a shop or factory that pays its workers a few dollars a week, but sells that product here in the U.S. for hundreds if not thousands more than it cost to make? The mark-up is often a thousand percent or more. Still people buy those products - so who’s fault is that? Yet, you’re complaining about the rich. Now of course there are things that we buy that we must have, but still you have a choice as to how much you buy. The world is built on someone sells and someone buys. Those that are very successful in selling something that is popular, valuable or needed can become rich. And if they run out or stop selling that item they could eventually be broke unless they invested wisely. But in a day or two someone else will sell something that is also popular, valuable or needed and they can also become rich. It’s a cycle that goes on and on. So what reason do you have to blame them.

What we have in re-distribution of wealth is people who are seeking some equality in the distribution of the all the wealth in this country – right? So, let’s start with equality – and what is equality? Are we talking equality in humans or in material things? Well, we’re all equal in God’s eyes so lets go with equality in material things. In material things, there are those that have and those that have not. Those that have, may have more than they need and those that have not don’t have enough of what they need. Hence we have problem or inequality in material things. Now, why is it one person has more than someone else? Was it luck that they acquired more or was it through hard work or efforts that they achieved more? So, should they simply give it to those that are in need and if so how much and how often? When do they stop giving? Will it be when both have nothing, or when one dies? Then what? Have you ever heard the old saying, “you give a man a fish you feed him for a day, but you teach that man to fish and you feed him for life.” Giving is a wonderful thing and we all know “it is better to give than to receive” – but notice the last part ”to receive.” Those that receive should also be willing to give, in other words, pay it forward – and in order for them to give they need to have something to give. Because from nothing you get nothing, so you need to have something. There is no doubt that we have many that need help, but not in a hand out, but a hand up. They need help in the form of a job, a trade, or better education, something that will provide them a way to live on their own and not living off someone else’s efforts. If you want re-distribution, start with getting educated - start with getting a better education and learning something other than playing games or watching TV and videos. Any person that wants to be successful must work at it because it’s not suppose to be easy otherwise everyone would be successful and therefore we wouldn’t have this problem of unequality in wealth.

Now, guess what? This is not something new, it has already been studied, discussed and theories tested – it’s sometimes referred to as equality of outcome. This so-called standard of equality is essentially a Marxist (or communist) ideology. Oh,yes it is. It is based on that same idea that everyone contributes to the society and the economy but whatever is produced is shared equally with all. How many of you think that is a great idea? If you do, let’s put it to a simple test.

Ok, let’s start by trying this idea in our schools. In school you have those students that make ”A’s” and ”B’s” and then there are the ones that make ”C’s” and “D’s” and then some that make “F’s. Using the idea of “equality of outcome”, the teacher announces while passing out grades that everyone is going to receive “C’s” for their final grade. This is because everyone has to have the same outcome. Now, there would be a mix of emotions from the students, because those that worked hard to get an “A” or “B” wouldn’t be too happy getting their grade lowered to a “C”, but then the students that had a ”D” or ”F” just moved up to a ”C” – they would be pretty happy, no doubt. Now, here’s the problem that seems to be overlooked by many - How long do you think it would take for more and more students to stop trying to get an ”A” or “B” knowing that everyone will get the same grade at the end of the semester anyway? Who’s going to step up and work hard while the others sit back and wait to enjoy the fruits of someone else’s labor? Do you honestly think this type of program would produce the best and the brightest or just more lazy and underachieving students? Oh, and before you start with the “oh some students will work hard because they want to…” Hey, not to say that wouldn’t happen, but still, look at our society now; why do we have millions of people wanting free healthcare because they’re too picky about getting a job? And then we have more and more businesses reducing benefits, which puts more of the burden on the government to pick up the slack. Here’s a real fact – it is human nature that people will always do the least amount of work possible when given the choice between doing something difficult or easy- everything in nature will generally take the path of least resistance. (Oh, yeah, salmon swim upstream to lay eggs – and those eggs tend to be expensive as well as the salmon.) Giving people the idea that everything earned will be shared equally with everyone, will ultimately create what is known as free rider/free loader syndrome – which is when one person is responsible for getting something done, the incentive is for each individual to shirk responsibility and hope others will pull the extra weight. So, you think if we give people more money for doing nothing that’s going to make everything better? PLEASE, GET REAL! That’s not going to work. This idea of re-distribution of wealth is not new, it has been tried before – it didn’t work in the past and it will not work now. In addition, just consider if we were to develop this type of society – if you like modern technology and the conveniences it brings – that’s not because of re-distribution, but to change to it we would most likely not be as advanced as we are today. Why? Little incentive and the fact that it often takes lots of money to do research and create new ideas. And with everything being equal, there would be limited, if any, opportunities for someone to invest in ideas that carry risk.

Now with Obamacare (as it is called), we have another farfetched idea that our government has this unlimited amount of wealth of which will be used to provide healthcare to the millions that don’t have healthcare. I must say to explain why this is such a dumb idea – is like explaining to someone that just because they have checks in their checkbook doesn’t mean they have money – it’s just common sense. And this idea lacks any common sense – this is like just a few years back when all those that bought homes they couldn’t afford with adjustable rate mortgages but were expecting some sort of windfall of money when the balloon payment came due — well we can see how that turned out and people are still suffering from that mistake. Hitting your head against the wall once is ok, but to do it repeatedly is stupid.

I really wasn’t thinking about commenting on this, but here I am doing it anyway. Not like what is happening with these civic leaders and community groups speaking to the media. In truth they should stay out of it, but then the media likes to just pull you in, with all their “so-called” reporting.

First, I won’t be using any names. Hey, look this is a terrible tragedy, without a doubt. A young man had been killed and that is not good. But here’s the deal, that is the only fact we know that is an absolute fact — a young man is dead. (Does it really make a difference if he was black? Some may think so. Also, I didn’t say innocent, either.) Now, the other information being presented by our media sources – is combined with both fact, fiction and opinion – of which the latter I’m about to give. So here’s my opinion — I don’t know what actually happen so I don’t want to give an opinion and I feel that the media should do the same in regards to opinions, along with all these different groups, outspoken community leaders and especially ministers and preachers.

As for the minister and preachers, you do realize those opinions are very close to judging. And I believe it’s been said that we are not suppose to make quick judgements? Especially if we don’t know whether or not all the facts are real and true. Now, I believe it says in the Bible: “Judge not so that ye not be judged” and “for with what judgement ye judge, ye shall be judged;” – and there are many out there ready to give a quick opinion and at the same time basically passing judgement (which many are doing because they’re saying the shooter was racist and therefore he’s guilty of shooting this innocent young black man because he was wearing a “hoodie.”) – just remember we all can be judged by the same standards. And so it goes, we’re stereotyping people wearing hoodies — this is also when we’re not suppose to judge and stereotype people that look or say they’re muslim? Is our society that ”jacked up?”

This is far from that basic idea that we’re suppose to consider the facts and evidence in court before we find a person guilty. Actually the media is the real problem here. They are suppose to report only the facts, not just what some guy on the street said that wasn’t even there - or interview a family member that is grief stricken and upset because of the lost of a loved one. It seems everyone is out for blood and what does that do for us as a supposedly civilized society- gives us more bloodshed and more people hurt. In this case there are two families hurting from this tragedy – the family that lost the young man and the family associated with the shooter. The news just like to stir up people’s emotions – which makes for great news stories. It’s like watching a horror movie – you don’t like it, you think it’s dumb, but you still want to watch it – it entertaining. The only difference in this case – this is not a movie and there are real people getting hurt.

The media seems to be one of the most hypocritical organizations on the planet — on one hand they say to the public, don’t be so quick to make judgement, but on the other hand they give out information like donuts without any consideration how it will affect people – they tend not to care whether the information is true or not, just as long as “it bleeds, it leads.” But in truth, they do know what they’re doing – they know exactly what’s going to get the most reaction out of the public — so they print it or announce it, and then they stand back and watch what happens — which gives them more news to report on. As far as who gets hurt or dies, they just say, “we simply report the news, we don’t create it,” yeah, right.

Now, when these so-called “civic leaders” and “special interest” groups go out shouting “we want justice, and this is racism!” I seem to recall, it was not too long ago in our history that they called that ”lynch mobs” and those mobs would simply go out and hang some black man and then call it “justice” - way before holding a trial to see if the man was guilty or not. Now I believe that was wrong then and it should be wrong now. And now, these people call themselves leaders. The only thing they seem to lead is - EXPLOITATION. Which is defined as: an unjust or improper use of another person for one’s own profit or advantage. Notice the words – unjust and improper – does that give anyone a clue that it’s a bad thing to do?

Look, has anyone ever lost something and thought it was stolen and then thought they knew who stole it? yeah, you have. And then if you went as far as accused that person of stealing it and then later found that you simply dropped it behind the desk or couch. You felt really bad afterwards so you might have apologized, but still you most likely hurt that person’s feelings for making such an accusation towards him or her. Now, in this case it is more serious, but not any different in that people are making accusations without knowing if it was an accident or a terrible mistake. This is why the police and the courts should handle it and people should keep their opinions to themselves til the final verdict is in.

Now, I didn’t mean to offend anyone, nor did I want to make this sound like I don’t care about what happen to that young man – I do care - and that’s why I think it’s important that we find out the truth about what happen. And not let these people come out on TV, radio and even the internet and start all this ”crap” about racism and stereotypes. None of which is doing any good except creating more anger and hate in addition to exploiting a tragedy — which you can see are all three bad things and three bads things never add up to anything good.

So, in the case of this shooting, here are a few things to consider —– 1) the media just likes to stir things up. 2) people should not be so quick to make judgements (like I said before, in the old western days when the guy would run into the saloon and yell the storekeeper’s been shot — and the whole saloon runs outside ready to hang whoever they “think” did it.) 3) We are to suppose to let the law handle this - which is why we have laws and courts. 4) don’t be a hypocrite and say one thing and do the opposite {i.e. the media} 5) the president should be the last person to give an opinion on something he knows nothing about other than what he has seen or heard in the news.

Rev. Martin Luther King once said, ” returning violence with violence only multiplies violence, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars.”

I’ve been hearing on the news that there are people saying they’re waiting to get some “free Obama money.” Oh, really? Now, just what is “Obama Money?”

Is it money with President Obama’s face on it?? Then it’s not real money, because that would be counterfeit money or monopoly money.

Is it money directly from President Obama’s pocket or savings?? I wouldn’t think so, unless he’s made so much money after becoming president he has enough to simply give away. (He might have made a lot of money since becoming president, but not enough to give away.)

Is it money from our government and because he’s the president – he’s just going to give some of it away?? Now that would be hard to accept considering it’s being said throughout the country that our government is broke and that our deficit is over $15 trillion and growing. Where would we get money to give away that we don’t have? When you don’t have money of your own, you have to borrow it. right? Well, if we borrow the money, then that would mean it has to be paid back. right? In order to pay it back, then the government would need to raise taxes because the government only makes or brings in money through taxes and fees so that would mean we would be paying more taxes and fees for money the president is giving away. Ummm, now that makes really good sense. So is that “Obama money?”

Hey, if there are people out there that “think” (which I use that word cautiously) they’re getting “free Obama money” -PLEASE contact me when you get that money because I have some land in southern Florida, that would be great for either a mobile home or to use as farm land, I will make you a great deal on it!

I guess it’s because I never liked being laughed at as a kid. Though it didn’t happen much, but when it did, oh did it bug the heck out of me. Just like this pension reform idea being pushed on us.

I know, I asked for someone to explain why, but I can’t wait for those “so-called” canned explanations. Listen, this is nothing but a total Scam! And I will repeat that — PENSION REFORM IS A SCAM!

Ok, they (the media and those that want this so-called pension reform) go on radio, newspaper and TV and tell everyone that they have some city worker earning more in retirement than they did when they were working for the city. THAT IS ONE RETIREE! They can get the public to think that every single city employee is earning more than they did when they were working — you do know that is practically impossible? Yet, they get the low, middle and upper classes to believe it! It’s like in the old western days when the guy would run into the saloon and say “Billy Bob just shot the storekeeper!” and everyone in the saloon would run out like an angry mob and say “let’s hang Billy Bob!” Now, no one really knew if the storekeeper was shot or even if it was Billy Bob that shot him, they just want to go out and hang someone. This is just what is happening with this pension reform idea. The news media just runs with the story, they don’t do any real investigating, rather they go by the saying ”if it bleeds it leads” – it’s front page news. This is just to get the public stirred up and start looking for blood, so to speak. And just like in those old westerns, it was most likely the guy that ran in the saloon that committed the crime but that guy was clever enough to know that he could easy divert and mislead all those people and stir them up into an angry mob. And what happens at the end, the mob would find out later that they had hung the wrong man. This is what’s going to happen with this reform idea, we’re just going find out later that it was the wrong thing to do but, hey who cares after it’s done, right? Just hang’em!

Now I’m not going to say that one person cannot beat the system – we generally have one person win the lottery. Why don’t we change the lottery system? Because, it’s generally one person that wins! That’s just one person, now because of one, maybe two people, they’ve decided it’s pension that needs to be changed. Do you recall how much money was wasted on Qualcomm stadium, the downtown Petco ballpark, the “Russian Eggs” exhibit at Balboa park — millions! That had nothing to do with pensions, so now it’s pension that’s the problem. What is it with people and history – do you not remember what you ate yesterday — history is very important. The sad thing is that, the politicians have figured out that most of the public has short term memory and that they can be easily distracted. So,they’ve come to realize people don’t care or can’t seem to remember what happen a few days ago let alone a few years ago. Basically, if they can keep this up we will be working for pennies, while they sit back and watch us fight over those pennies. That is a Shame! It was their “opinions” and “ideas” that created this so-called financial mess we are suppose to be in. Is it ok to reform the pension when we have so many city officials that don’t do anything and they still get paid more than those that protect the public and save you and your property from a fire. We don’t pay those workers nearly what they deserve. Yet, everyone is ready to take something away from the real workers. Hey, next time someone gets carjacked, or a store or bank gets robbed or a house catches fire — call the mayor or a city councilperson and ask them to respond – just cut out all this middle-man stuff, go right to the top! Don’t know their number, just call 911 and ask for the mayor or your city council representative I’m sure they’ll give it to you.

Look, our city officials, radio personalities and others, are all about making a buck — this is not about you or giving you better service – it’s about them getting to the top of the food chain. Radio personalities are about ratings, city officials are about votes — what do they both have in common — they both know how to manipulate people to get what they want. We all know they don’t do the jobs that we can see, they’re supposedly too smart for that. But are they really that smart? And if they are, why then do we need to reform the pension - were not the previous officials before this group suppose to be smart and know how to run things. What makes this group so much better or smarter. Maybe it’s not a case of being smarter, but being clever enough to stir people up with a bunch of random facts and figures and then allow the peoples’ own jealousy and envy to go work against them – that’s works just as well.

Hey, pension reform is nothing but a way to push back wages and cut cost so that they (our glorious city officials) can have more money to spend on their own special projects — which you all must know by now will not benefit you in anyway except in low-paying customer service related jobs (that’s the polite way of calling you a ”servant” ). So, go-ahead vote for low wages, no benefits and more work and less pay — because that’s what you’re headed for with this pension reform.

Don’t let this happen, don’t let them win, don’t let them laugh at all of us while they fill their pockets with your money. Don’t you hate it when people are laughing at you behind your back?

“Liberty has never come from government. Liberty has always come from the subjects of it. The history of Liberty is a history of resistance.
